A football festival with a difference organised by Mdina Knights

Mdina Knights Football Club is organizing a football festival at the San Anton School Sports Complex, limits of Mgarr on Sunday 2nd December 2012. The festival is for boys under the age of 9 and will be played on a 5-a-side basis, with each team playing each other on a round robin basis.

The festival is based on the theme that the Order of the Knights of St. John comprised members from eight langues, or provinces. Each participating locality will represent one of these langues and has been chosen for its affinity with a Grand Master who hailed from that particular langue.

Besides serving as a means through which boys can meet and participate in a festival atmosphere, this event will also serve as an opportunity for them to understand that a healthy lifestyle can be achieved not only through the practice and participation in sporting activities, but also by following a healthy eating habit.

In this festival, everyone is a winner as the scope is for the boys to have fun and to acquire information on a healthy eating lifestyle. All participants will be presented with literature on healthy eating, a commemorative T-shirt, and a souvenir booklet, while participating nurseries will each receive a memento of the tournament.

Entrance is free of charge and the general public is invited to attend.

This project has been funded with support from the VO Fund within the Malta Council for the Voluntary
Sector.
