Marsaxlokk ended their commitments in the BOV First Division with a 4-1 win over Dingli Swallows who were relegated to Division 2.

Douglas da Silva Silveira converted a penalty two minutes from the end of the first half to put Marsaxlokk ahead. Rupert Mangion doubled the score on 67 minutes and five minutes later, goalkeeper Omar Borg increased the lead from another penalty. Douglas da Silva Silveira scored the fourth goal on the 78th before Dingli scored a consolation goal in the dying minutes.

In another match, Gudja United and St. Andrews shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Joseph Farrugia put the Saints ahead on 58 minutes but Alan Abela levelled matters seven minutes from time.

Vittoriosa lead the way with 44 points followed by Lija on 42, Naxxar on 41, Pietà 40, St. Andrews 38, Marsaxlokk 32, Gudja 30, Gzira and Zejtun 21, Birzebbuga 20, Dingli 16 and Mqabba 8.

With Vittoriosa already promoted to the Premier League, they would be crowned champions should they beat Pietà.

To secure promotion, Lija need a win over Naxxar while in case of a draw, they would risk a decider with Pietà if they beat Vittoriosa.

For Naxxar to win promotion, they have to beat Lija. They would force a championship decider should Vittoriosa lose to Pietà.

The only chance for Pietà is to beat Vittoriosa, hoping that Lija vs Naxxar ends in a draw. In that case, Pietà and Lija would play a promotion decider.

Pietà Hotspurs vs Vittoriosa Stars will be played at the Centenary Stadium while Naxxar Lions vs Lija Athletic will be played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Both matches kick-off at 15:00.

At 17:15, Mqabba face Birzebbuga St. Peter’s at the Centenary Stadium while Zejtun Corinthians face Gzira United at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
