First Division side Pietà Hotspurs continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of two former players of Tarxien Rainbows – goalkeeper David Cassar and Brazilian midfielder Ricardo Costa.

A product of Hibernians, Cassar played for St. Patrick before joining Tarxien Rainbows where he has been playing for the past four years.

On the other hand, Ricardo Mion Varella Costa played for the Rainbows between 2010 and 2012, scoring eight and nine goals respectively. Last season, he played for Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica.

The Hotspurs had earlier appointed former Tarxien coach Noel Coleiro as their new coach.
