Jacob Borg joins Sliema Wanderers

Sliema WanderersMalta international defender Jacob Borg joined Sliema Wanderers from Balzan.

Australian-born Jacob Borg played for Gold Coast United and eventually Dapto Dandaloo United in Australia before moving to Malta in October to join Balzan. He was soon selected by national team coach Pietro Ghedin to form part of the national squad although he is yet to make his debut.

The Wanderers have earlier signed young Italian striker Andrea Navarra and have now secured the services of Senegalese striker Pape Gueye and Nigerian forward Abubakar Bello-Osagie.

Bello-Osagie spent the last six months with Valletta after a successful spell with Qormi. Pape Gueye, on the other hand, arrived in Malta this summer for a trial with Birkirkara.

The Wanderers have so far transferred Luca Martinelli, Josef MIfsud and Miguel Ciantar to Tarxien Rainbows on loan and Andrew Decesare to Naxxar Lions. Ariel Laudisi could also be transferred to Tarxien.
