UEFA Women's Champions League: Glasgow City hit nine past Birkirkara

women-champions-leagueBirkirkara suffered another heavy defeat in Group 8 of the qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, losing 9-0 to Glasgow City of Scotland at the Sportpark Slangenbeek in Hengelo, the Netherlands.

Suzanne Lapin opened the score on 19 minutes and four minutes later, Ruesha Littlejohn doubled the score by converting a penalty. Ciara Barnes made it 3-0 on 36 minutes and three minutes from the end of the first half, Suzanne Malone scored the fourth goal.

On the hour, Sarah Crilly scored the fifth goal, adding another one on the 69th. Goalkeeper Danica Dalziel made it 7-0 on 84 minutes before substitute Leanne Ross increased the lead further three minutes later. Sarah Crilly sealed the issue with a ninth goal four minutes in added time.

Birkirkara play their final match on Tuesday against WFC Osijek of Croatia at the Sportpark Slangenbeek, Hengelo, kick-off at 17:00.
