Futsal: Luxol hammer neighbours Swieqi

futsal-luxol-swieqi-11-13Luxol St. Andrews have sent out a warning to giants Hibernians and Balzan after producing an outstanding display hammering neighbours Swieqi United 15-2.

Swieqi opened the score with a well taken goal. However Luxol reacted within a few minutes and made a comeback by scoring quick successive goals. For the winning side, Liam Cachia and Eslam Khalifa scored a hat trick each.

Meanwhile, Hibernians maintained their perfect record in the league after beating Qormi 9-3 to top the Premier Division table. Balzan also continued to march forward and gained their second consecutive win after beating Pembroke Athleta 8-2. Clint Cope hit the headlines by scoring a hat-trick.

Hamrun Spartans beat Melita with a 10-4 scoreline with Spanish duo Martin Guardia Antonio and Christian Cuadros Silva scoring three goals each while Birzebbuga St. Peter’s, Pembroke Athleta and San Gwann had the better of Zabbar St. Patrick, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Mosta respectively to gain the three points at stake.

Gzira United maintained their perfect record in the FXDD First Division league after beating Mqabba with a 6-3 scoreline. The Maroons now lead the First Division standings with maximum points from the first four matches.

On the other hand, Zebbug Rangers dominated and had the better of neighbours Siggiewi after an 8-2 result. This victory helped Zebbug join Msida St. Joseph in the third place with nine points after four games.
