Euro Cup: Fine win for Valletta

Euro-Challenge-CupValletta registered their first win in the Euro Cup Friendly Tournament as they beat Sliema Wanderers 4-2 at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday. A win which puts the Citizens at the top with four points, one ahead of the Blues.

Gilbert Agius’ side went three goals ahead courtesy of Abdelkarim Nafti and a brace by Lateef Elford Alliyu. The Wanderers pulled one back through Marko Potezica but Luke Montebello made it 4-1. Potezica scored a second goal for the Wanderers to reduce the arrears.

On Monday, Birkirkara – who had held Valletta in a 1-1 draw on Friday – face Hibernians who lost 0-3 to Sliema in their first outing.

On Wednesday, Hibernians face Valletta while the tournament comes to an end on Thursday with the clash between Sliema Wanderers and Birkirkara.
