Birkirkara secured the services of twenty-four year old Brazilian striker Ellinton Morais, known as Liliu.

Ellinton Antonio Costa Morais played for KVC Westerlo in Belgium before moving to Kuwait to play for Al-Nasr SC. He moved back to Brazil where he had short spells with CRB and Rio Verde but returned to Europe, joining Ethnikos Achna in Cyprus. He was then loaned to Hapoel Ra’anana in Israel.

Liliu will be the club’s sixth foreigner along with Alejandro Mendoza Corujo, Matheus Bissi da Silva, Nikola Vukanac, Eliandro Gonzaga dos Santos, Rafael Pompeo Rodrigues Ledesma and goalkeeper Adrian Murcia Sanchez.

He is expected to make his debut in the BOV Super Cup final against Valletta on Friday.
