Hibernians, Mosta hope to maintain perfect start

Hibernians and Mosta will be hoping to keep their perfect record and register a third win in as many matches as they take on Sliema Wanderers and Zebbug Rangers in two of the four matches in programme on Wednesday.

Tarxien Rainbows and Pietà Hotspurs seek their first win while Qormi and Balzan will be aiming at returning to winning ways.

Mosta vs Zebbug Rangers, kick-off 18:30 at Victor Tedesco Stadium

After two narrow wins over Valletta and Pietà Hotspurs, Mosta target a third win over a newly-promoted Zebbug Rangers side which lost to Balzan and Birkirkara in their first two outings. The Rangers definitely need to improve to do better in the Premier League.

Mosta could have new recruit Fabio Paim in squad but they still could not use Pedro dos Santos Calcado who is suspended.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Pietà Hotspurs, kick-off 20:45 at Victor Tedesco Stadium
After two draws against Sliema and Valletta, Tarxien Rainbows will be aiming for their first win against a Pietà Hotspurs side which is still seeking their first points of the season after losing narrowly to both Birkirkara and Mosta. A positive result for Noel Coleiro’s side against his former team would definitely boost the morale of his players.

Rafael Xavier is ruled out for the Hotspurs as he serves the second of a two-match ban. Tarxien, on the other hand, hope that Carlos Menendez Hevia will be available after missing the last game.

Qormi vs Balzan, kick-off 18:30 at National Stadium
After losing 1-2 to Hibernians, Qormi hope to bounce back with a win over Balzan who also failed to win in their last outing after being held in a 1-1 draw with Naxxar Lions. However Oliver Spiteri’s side will be all out for the three points to make sure of staying at least in fourth place, two points behind the leaders.

For Balzan, goalkeeper Christian Cassar is ruled out through suspension.

Hibernians vs Sliema Wanderers, kick-off 20:30 at National Stadium
After beating Floriana and Qormi, Hibernians hope to make it three wins in a row with a win over Sliema Wanderers. Their task will be no easy one as the Blues will be aiming for victory after being held in two draws by Tarxien and Floriana in their first two outings and are therefore chasing their first win.

Hibs coach Branko Nisevic could not count on the suspended Rodolfo Soares.
