Qormi’s Alfred Effiong is the BOV Player of the Month for October 2014.

The Nigerian striker’s renowned speed and lightning acceleration are any opponent goalkeeper’s headache. He bagged his 100th goal in the BOV Premier League when he scored Qormi’s fourth goal in the 86th minute in Qormi’s 4-2 victory over Floriana.

His knack for goal is evident with him scoring in all three of Qormi’s matches during the month of October.

John Paul Abela, Manager, Community Relations at Bank of Valletta’s Qormi Branch presented the BOV Player of the Month Trophy for October 2014 to Effiong. The player chose the Ursuline Creche to benefit from the donation related to this award. Every month, the Player of the Month nominates a NGO or charitable institution to benefit from this donation. Thus the Bank brings together its support for sport and philanthropy through this award.
