Three teams share the top spot in the BOV First Division after Gudja United defeated St. Andrews 2-1 in a clash for the leadership.

Emiliano Lattes put the Saints ahead on the 4th minute but just before half-time, Angelo Catania equalised. Peter Paul Sammut made it 2-1 for Gudja on 62 minutes.

Pembroke Athleta missed the opportunity to take sole leadership had they won the second match but they lost 1-3 to Rabat Ajax.

Wayne Borg put the Magpies ahead on 38 minutes and the same doubled the score on 69 minutes. Demba Toure pulled one back on 81 minutes but four minutes later, Lawrence Uchechi Chiedozie sealed the issue with a third goal.

Gudja, St. Andrews and Melita lead the way with 19 points, followed by Lija on 18, Pembroke 17, Vittoriosa and St. George’s 16, Fgura 14, Mqabba and Gzira 13, Rabat 11, Zurrieq and Msida 10, Birzebbuga 2.
