Thirteen Premier League players suspended

Five players were suspended after the BOV Premier League clash between Balzan and Mosta and another eight Premier League players were banned by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner on Wednesday.

Mosta had Bojan Kaljevic banned for three matches while Pedro dos Santos Calcado and Tyrone Farrugia were suspended for two matches. Balzan, on the other hand, had Oscar Dario Guerrero suspended for two matches while Edison Bilbao Zarate was banned for one game. Mosta team-manager Adrian Farrugia was banned for three matches while Balzan kit-manager David Spiteri was handed a one-year ban.

Meanwhile Amadou Samb (Floriana), Bjorn Kristensen (Hibs), Angus Buhagiar (Naxxar), Leonardo Fortunato dos Santos and Joao Gabriel da Silva (Pietà), Emerson Vella (Qormi), Carlos Menendez Hevia (Tarxien) and Roderick Briffa (Valletta) were all suspended for one match.

Kaljevic is ruled out of the games against Birkirkara, Qormi and Tarxien while Pedrinho and Tyrone Farrugia will miss the Birkirkara and Qormi games. Guerrero skips the games against Tarxien and Floriana with Zarate missing the Tarxien game.

Samb and Buhagiar are ruled out of Floriana vs Naxxar, Vella and Briffa out of Qormi vs Valletta, Leo Fortunato and Gabriel miss the game against Sliema, Kristensen the game against Zebbug and Carlinos the clash with Balzan.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Michael Camilleri (Vittoriosa) and Brandon Grech (Mqabba) were banned for two matches while George Chircop (Gudja), Adrian Caruana and McAllister Clinch (Lija) and Matthias Fenech (Melita) were suspeded for one match. Msida official Roderick Zahra was banned for one year.

Kevin Camilleri (Gharghur) was suspended for one match in Division 2 while Christian Zammit (Kalkara), Dalton Caruana (Mdina), Bjorn Dalli (Qrendi) and Shawn D’Amato (Santa Lucia) were banned for one match in Division 3. Dean Camilleri (Sta. Venera) was handed a six-match ban and Mark Spiteri (Marsaskala) was suspended for two matches. Mgarr club official Joseph Schembri and Santa Lucia team manager John Urry were handed a two-match ban.
