Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Clive Brincat (Balzan), Nikola Vukanac and Matheus Bissi da Silva (Birkirkara), Amadou Samb (Floriana), Omar Borg (Mosta) and Filippo Andrea Scozzese (Sliema) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Vukanac, Matheus and Samb are ruled out of Floriana vs Birkirkara, Brincat misses Balzan’s next game against Hibernians, Scozzese skips the game against Naxxar while Mosta will be without Omar Borg for the clash with Tarxien.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Yanis Tonna (Gzira) was banned for two matches while Quincy Bregman (Fgura), Daniel Scerri (Gzira), George Gribbon (Melita), Dylan Attard (Melita), David Azzopardi (Rabat), Matteo Desira Buttigieg and Nikky Vella Petroni (St. Andrews) and Sheldon Grech (Vittoriosa). Gzira official Charlton Gerada was banned for two matches.

Antoine Barbara (Xghajra) was suspended for three matches in Division 2 while Bronwen Bugeja (Ghaxaq), Agatino Sicali (Hamrun), Elland Vella and Heathcliff Schembri (Marsa), Ryan Zammit and Jean Noel Azzopardi (San Gwann) and Alex Ellul (Zabbar) were banned for one match.

In Division 3, Alexei Saliba (Qrendi) was handed a three-match ban. Nick Ghio (Attard), Jason Good (Luqa), Dalton Caruana and Cachel Vella (Mdina), David Camilleri (Mgarr), Joseph Munyao Mwema (Mtarfa) and Christian Grech (Qrendi) were all banned for one match. Attard assistant coach Joseph Galea and Omar Gauci were banned for three matches and two matches respectively.
