Gudja United failed to regain sole leadership in the BOV First Division as they were held in a goalless draw by Mqabba in one of the matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday. A draw which puts Gudja on level points with St. Andrews.

Pembroke Athleta could have also joined them on top but a goal by Andre Farrugia two minutes from time gave Fgura United an important win over them. For Fgura, this was the ninth consecutive positive result.

Gudja and St. Andrews lead the way with 29 points, followed by Gzira on 28, Pembroke and Melita 26, Fgura 23, Vittoriosa, St. George’s and Lija 22, Mqabba 18, Rabat 17, Msida 14, Zurrieq 10and Birzebbuga 9.
