Luke Montebello joined Zebbug Rangers from Valletta on loan until the end of the season.

A product of Birkirkara, Montebello joined Italian side Livorno in a joint-ownership deal in summer 2011 and the following season, the Italian club signed him from Birkirkara.

However in summer 2013, he moved back to Malta, signing a five-year deal with Valletta although he had turned out for Birkirkara in the Euro Cup.

During the January transfer window, the Rangers signed Matthew Bartolo, Paltemio Barbetti, Kurt Zammit, Rashid Yussuff and Stefano Zampa.
