Ten Premier League players suspended

Ten Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner after the matches which were played during the weekend and on Tuesday.

Zach Muscat and Alejandro Mendoza Corujo (Birkirkara), Clayton Failla (Hibs), Albert Bruce (Naxxar), Pedro Henrique dos Santos Calcado and Mark Scerri (Sliema), Triston Caruana, Matthew Tabone and Carlos Hevia Menendez (Tarxien) and Steve Borg (Valletta) are therefore ruled out of the weekend’s matches.

Caruana, Tabone and Carlinos will be missing Tarxien’s next game against Floriana, Zach Muscat, Alejandro Mendoza, Pedrinho and Mark Scerri are ruled out of Sliema vs Birkirkara, Steve Borg will miss the game against Balzan, Failla is unavailable for the game against Mosta and Bruce the clash with Pietà.

In Division 1, Julian Briffa (Birzebbuga), Josef Mifsud (Gzira), Erjon Beu (Lija), Emilio Cornago San Pedro (Melita), Felipe Canavan Freire and Mark Barbara (Vittoriosa) were all banned for one match.

Karl Cilia (Dingli), David Cauchi and Isaac Sammut (Mellieha), Lee Joe Schembri (Sirens), Matthew Sapiano (Swieqi) and Warren Bianco (Zabbar) were suspended for one match in Division 2 while Iro Curmi (Xghajra) was banned for two matches.

Justin Cilia (Luqa) was handed a three-match ban in Division 3, Stephen Place (Mdina) and Christian Farrugia (Santa Lucia) were suspended for two matches while Mark Pullicino (Kirkop), Adrian Psaila (Luqa), Melchior Grech (Marsaskala) and Karl Gafa (Marsaxlokk) were handed a one-match ban.
