Four Premier League players suspended

Four Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Matteo Picciollo and Sacha Borg of Floriana, Edison Luis dos Santos of Hibernians and Claudio Frances of Pietà are therefore ruled out of this weekend’s matches.

Piciollo and Borg will be missing the game against Tarxien, Tarabai the game against Zebbug and Frances the clash with Sliema.

In Division 1, Edile Micheletti Awoh and Angelo Catania (Gudja), Steven Meilak and Josef Mifsud (Gzira), Mark Anthony Psaila (Mqabba), Rennie Forace and Stacey Vella (Msida) were all banned for one match.

Alex Portelli (Dingli), Muda Fagbeja (Gharghur), Christopher Zammit and Noel Bilocca (Ghaxaq), Christian Cassar (Senglea), Jonathan Bugeja (Xghajra) and Karl Vassallo (Zejtun) were suspended for one match in Division 2. Mellieha coach Dennis Fenech and team-manager Hubert Vella were both banned for two matches.

In Division 3, Robert Perkins and Colin Ciantar (Attard), Steve Buhagiar (Marsaskala), Saviour Bonnici (Marsaskala) and Brandon Gafa` (Sta. Venera) were handed a one-match ban while Christian Debono and Omar Saimi Mohammed (Sta. Venera) were suspended for two matches. Kirkop coach Albert Busuttil was banned for two matches.
