After being held in a draw by Gharghur last week, Hamrun Spartans returned to winning ways as they defeated Xghajra Tornados 3-0 to regain the top spot in the BOV Second Division.

Simon Shead put the Spartans ahead on 20 minutes. Eleven minutes in the second half, Rodney Refalo doubled the score and Alan Tabone converted a penalty on 72 minutes to make it 3-0.

Hamrun lead the way with 47 points, followed by San Gwann on 46, Senglea 39, Zejtun 35, Zabbar 33, Mellieha 31, Gharghur 30, Siggiewi 29, Sirens 26, Swieqi and Marsa 24, Dingli 16, Ghaxaq 9 and Xghajra 5.
