The Malta women’s national team placed second in Group B of the Aphrodite Cup which is currently being played in Cyprus following a 1-1 draw with Bahrain in the final match from the group.

Rozen Alkastimi put Bahrain ahead on the 22nd minute but Emma Xuereb equalised five minutes from the end of the first half.

Cyprus won the group thanks to a third win – a 1-0 win over Azerbaijan – to collect maximum points and will now face Greece in the final on Wednesday.
