Dynamo Kiev demand €105,000 from Birkirkara

FIFA has informed Birkirkara that Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev are seeking compensation amounting to €105,000 after the Stripes signed Frank Temile in summer 2013 and including him in the list for the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. In fact, he made his debut for Birkirkara in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round clash with NK Maribor of Slovenia.

Temile had joined Dynamo Kiev from Valletta in summer 2008 after an excellent season with the Citizens. However his Ukrainian experience was rather disappointing as he only played a few matches with the club’s second and third teams apart from a short loan spell with PFC Olexandria.

Since Temile is not yet aged twenty-three, Dynamo Kiev have written to the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber, demanding training compensation.

Temile was released by Birkirkara at the end of the season and after joining Qormi, he moved to Naxxar Lions in the January transfer window.

This is the second time, a foreign club is demanding training compensation from a local club.

In April 2011, the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber had ordered Hamrun Spartans to pay Amsterdam FC, Almere City FC (formerly FC Omniworld) and Club Quick Boys a total of €155,000 plus interest over the signing of Sylvano Comvalius. However this request was turned down by the Court of Arbitration for Sport following an appeal by Hamrun as the player had actually signed a contract with Quick Boys.
