Mgarr United won the Women’s Under-16 Knock-Out after defeating Gozo 3-1 on penalties at the Gharghur Ground on Sunday. Mgarr therefore completed the double after winning the championship, finishing four points ahead of Gozo.

The game at the end of regular time was still 0-0. In the penalty shoot-out, Nicole Cutajar, Angelique Schembri and Patricia Ebejer scored Mgarr’s penalties with Mirayah Aquilina and Maia Debono missing theirs. Leanne Cefai scored for Gozo with Keeva Camilleri, Maria Farrugia and Greta Grima missing their penalties.

Mgarr captain Thea Difesa was presented with the cup by MFA Deputy General Secretary (Grassroots, Youth Development and Education).

This competition brought to an end the season for Women Under-16.
