San Gwann BOV Second Division champions

San Gwann were declared BOV Second Division champions as they defeated Mellieha 2-0 in their final league match on Sunday.

Josef Cutajar put Edmond Lufi’s side ahead on the 14th minute and Ryan Zammit doubled the score on the 70th.

Hamrun Spartans finished runners-up following a 3-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians. Saturday Nanapere opened the score on the 6th minute. Alan Tabone converted a penalty two minutes from the end of the first half and Nanapere sealed the issue with a third goal on the 58th.

Senglea Athletic, who were also promoted to Division 1, defeated Swieqi United 5-0. Aud-Gustine James Obaje put Senglea ahead on the 15th. Timmy Thomas doubled the score on the 33rd, Obaje made it 3-0 on 69 minutes and four minutes later, Thomas added another before Brady Zerafa scored a fifth goal two minutes from time.

Siggiewi defeated Xghajra Tornados 2-0 thanks to goals by Kim Buhagiar on the 6th minute and Ayrton Buhagiar on the 42nd.

A goal on the 91st minute gave Ghaxaq a narrow win over Marsa.

In another match, Gharghur defeated Dingli Swallows 4-1.

San Gwann ended their commitments on 59 points, followed by Hamrun on 56, Senglea 55, Gharghur 44, Zabbar and Zejtun 43, Siggiewi 39, Mellieha 38, Sirens 35, Swieqi 33, Marsa 28, Dingli 19, Ghaxaq 15 and Xghajra 5.
