After securing the services of Ryan Fenech from Valletta, Balzan continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Italian goalkeeper Valerio Senatore from Floriana.

Senatore moved to Malta in August and was playing regularly until an injury ruled him out for almost five months.

In Italy, he was on the books of Genoa, Cavese, Scafatese, Crotone, Vibonese and Campobasso although it was only with Fondi Calcio in season 2013/14 that he managed to establish himself, playing regularly in the Serie D.
