Floriana continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Argentinian striker Mauricio Villa.

The 29-year old striker has been playing in Italy for the past five years, turning out for Modica, Noto, Brindisi, Matera, Castrovillari and Budoni, mainly in the Serie D.

The Greens, now under the guidance of Luis Oliveira, had earlier signed Federico Usai, Nicolas Hernan Chiesa and Mario Fontanella and Maltese internationals Firas Aboulezz and Jurgen Pisani.

Meanwhile the contract of Gary Muir has been terminated by mutual consent. The club had earlier lost Valerio Senatore to Balzan, Vito Plut to Birkirkara while Marcelina Emerson was also transferred to the Stripes.
