Hibernians end UEFA Women’s Champions League commitments with a draw

Hibernians became the first Maltese club to obtain a positive result in the qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League after holding KI of the Faroe Islands in a 3-3 draw at the Municipal Geroskipou in Paphos on Sunday.

Malena Josephsen put KI ahead on the 14th but Emma Xuereb equalised in added time before the end of the first half. Charlene Zammit made it 2-1 for the Paolites on the 61st but a minute later, Maria Thomsen restored equilibrium. KI regained the lead through Josephsen on the 70th but captain Dorianne Theuma notched the equaliser three minutes in added time.
