BOV Premier League second round gets underway

The BOV Premier League resumes this weekend after the international break with a full programme of matches at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. The second round kicks-off with two matches on Friday as Tarxien Rainbows take on Sliema Wanderers and Valletta face St. Andrews.

In the first match, Tarxien will aiming for another positive result after winning three of the last four matches, holding Mosta in a goalless draw in the other match. They are currently sixth on the 19-points mark, five ahead of Sliema Wanderers. The Blues lost three out of the last five matches as they met four of the top five teams, claiming their only points in a draw with Hibernians and a win over Naxxar. They are coming from a narrow defeat to leaders Balzan in their last outing.

Luke Dimech and Pedrinho are ruled out through suspension for Sliema but Mark Scerri will be back after serving a one-match ban. Tarxien, on the other hand, are expected to be in full strength.

In the first round, Tarxien defeated Sliema 2-0.

In the other match, Valletta are eager to bounce back after a draw with Mosta and a disappointing 0-2 defeat to Pembroke in their last outing.

The Saints continue to chase their first points after losing to Hibernians 0-3 in their last league outing. Eleven matches in which they scored just six goals and conceded twenty-nine.

Llywelyn Cremona and Federico Falcone are ruled out for Valletta through suspension.

Valletta won 3-0 in the first round.
