Hamrun Spartans moved to just one point behind leaders Gzira United in the BOV First Division as a goal by Philip Chircop on the 61st minute gave them a narrow win over Melita at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

A goal four minutes in added time by Milijan Milivojev gave Vittoriosa Stars a narrow win over a Lija Athletic side reduced to nine men at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

In another match at the same venue, a goal by substitute Zsolt Mark Kecskes one minute in added time gave Pietà Hotspurs a dramatic win over Zebbug Rangers.

On the other hand, Abdul Razak Mendy gave St. George’s three important points as his goal on the 61st minute gave them a narrow win over bottom-placed Gudja United at the Centenary Stadium.

Gzira lead the way with 27 points, followed by Hamrun on 26, Pietà 23, Senglea 19, Vittoriosa and Lija 18, Zebbug 17, Rabat 16, Fgura and Melita 12, St. George’s 10, Mqabba 9, San Gwann 6 and Gudja 4.
