Malta still 162nd in FIFA Ranking

Malta remained 162nd in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking which was published on Thursday.

The team led by Pietro Ghedin is still 50th in Europe. Just ahead of Malta are Kazakhstan (132, down 3), FYR Macedonia (138, down 2), Luxembourg (142) and Moldova (154, up 1). Liechtenstein is 165th, down 1, San Marino 198th and Andorra 201st.

Malta will be playing a friendly match against Moldova on March 24.

Belgium ended 2015 on a high note and they have begun 2016 in the same fashion. The Red Devils remain top of the table in the first FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking of 2016, while Argentina and Spain have also held onto their respective second and third positions.

With the majority of the top teams enjoying a well-deserved break in the final weeks of 2015, the situation in the top 50 remains largely unchanged in the latest ranking.

Germany, Chile, Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, England and Austria complete the top ten.
