Hibernians seek sole leadership

Hibernians could move on top the BOV Premier League table, at least until leaders Valletta play on Sunday, as they take on wooden-spoonists St. Andrews in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme on Saturday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The Paolites lie one point behind Valletta and won eight out of the last nine matches, dropping their only point in a defeat to the Citizens. They face a St. Andrews side still chasing their first points after nineteen league matches, conceding an average of more than three goals per game.

Brazilian striker Edison Luis dos Santos could make his return for Hibs as his future with Seoul E-Land is still unclear. However Andrei Agius, Marcelo Dias and Diosdado Mbele are ruled out through suspension and Rui da Gracia Gomes and Jorge da Silva Pereira are ruled out injured.

In the first round, Hibs defeated St. Andrews 3-0.

Meanwhile in the second match, Qormi and Naxxar Lions clash swords in a game between two teams desperate for points.

Qormi won just one of the last fifteen games and lost the last four games while Naxxar failed to win any of the last nine games, suffering seven consecutive defeats in the last seven matches.

Ousmane Sidibe and Ryan Micallef return for Qormi after serving a one-match ban. Naxxar, on the other hand, may have Italian goalkeeper Alberto Gallinetta making his debut.

In the first round, Qormi and Naxxar shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
