Luis Miguel Vergara Rodríguez is a player of Valletta FC after the Council of the Malta Football Association cleared the way for the club to register the player although his International Transfer Certificate was submitted by the Colombian Football Federation one hour and fifty minutes late.

Valletta had applied for the ITC on Friday but this arrived on Monday at 20:50, an hour and fifty minutes after the Malta Football Association’s 19:00 deadline.

Council members clearly voted in favour of a motion to accept the registration.

MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo suggested that in future the deadline could be extended until midnight as it was the case in other countries.

Luis Miguel Vergara Rodríguez played for Barranquilla, Once Caldas and Cucuta Deportivo in Colombia.
