Santa Lucia extended their unbeaten run in the BOV Third Division to fifteen matches as they defeated Attard 2-0 in a direct clash between two teams fighting for promotion at the Charles Abela Stadium.

Yenez Emre put Santa Lucia ahead on the 50th and Gilbert Camilleri doubled the score on the 67th.

Leaders Marsaxlokk bounced back from last week’s defeat to Ghaxaq as they defeated Kalkara 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium. Sergio Hili gave Marsaxlokk the lead on the half-hour and Manuel Caruana doubled the score fifteen minutes from time.

Marsaskala returned to winning ways as they defeated Xghajra Tornados 4-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Juan Galdes put the Southseasiders ahead five minutes from the end of the first half and Michael Theuma doubled the score just before half-time. Claudio Pace made it 3-0 on the 72nd and four minutes later, Michael Theuma added another. Xghajra pulled one back in added time thanks to an own goal.

Ghaxaq came from behind to beat Luqa St. Andrew’s 2-1 at the Sirens Stadium. Justin Muscat put Luqa ahead five minutes from the end of the first half but just before half-time, Mark Deguara levelled matters. Noel Tabone handed Ghaxaq the three points with a goal ten minutes from time.

Marsaxlokk lead the way with 32 points, followed by Marsaskala on 30, Santa Lucia 29, Mdina and Attard 28, Dingli and Ghaxaq 26, Luqa 16, St Venera and Xghajra 15, Kalkara 10, Mtarfa 9 and Ta’ Xbiex 8.
