Ghajnsielem keep marching on

Ghajnsielem keep marching on in the Gozo Football League First Division following a 3-1 win over Kercem Ajax on Sunday.

Shaun Attard put Kercem ahead on the 34th but Milos Stojanovic levelled matters four minutes later. Dhonatan Santos Da Hora converted a penalty on the 67th to put Ghajnsielem ahead and ten minutes later, the same player sealed the issue with a third goal.

Xewkija Tigers returned to winning ways as they beat Victoria Hotspurs 3-1. The Hotspurs took the lead thanks to a Manuel Buttigieg penalty just before half-time. John Camilleri equalised on the 74th and five minutes later, Dene Shields made it 2-1. The Scottish striker sealed the issue with another goal one minute in added time.

In the Gozo Football League Second Division, Xaghra United returned to winning ways as they defeated Qala Saints 3-0 thanks to a goal by Marlon Mamo on the 65th and a brace by Daniel Bartolo on the 79th and 85th.

In another match, Zebbug Rangers came back from one goal down to beat Munxar Falcons. Paul Said put Munxar ahead on the 21st but the Rangers turned the score in their favour thanks to a brace by Joel Xuereb on the 52nd and the 85th.
