Leaders Gharghur move five points clear in the BOV Second Division table after defeating Sirens 4-1 in a top-of-the-table claash at the Luxol Stadium on Friday.

By the end of the first half, Gharghur were already enjoying a three-goal lead as Christian Stewart put them ahead on the 17th and doubled the score two minutes later. Muda Fagbeja score a third goal on the half-hour. Giovanni Galea converted a penalty nine minutes in the second half to reduce the gap but Fagbeja made it 4-1 on the 73rd.

Gharghur lead the way with 46 points, followed by Sirens on 41, Marsa 39, Zabbar 32, Birzebbuga and Siggiewi 29, Zejtun 28, Mgarr 27, Qrendi 25, Mellieha 22, Swieqi 19, Kirkop 18, Zurrieq 6 and Msida 5.
