Lija Athletic registered a fine 3-1 win over Vittoriosa Stars in a match from the BOV First Division at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.

Erjon Beu put Lija ahead on the 11th minute and although Adrian Carabott levelled matters on the 38th, Antoine Borg restored the lead on the 45th. Erjon Beu sealed the issue with a third goal on the 61st.

Gzira lead the way with 55 points, followed by Hamrun on 54, Senglea 45, Pietà 40, Lija 37, Vittoriosa 33, Mqabba and Zebbug 32, Rabat 29, Fgura and Melita 26, San Gwann 20, St. George’s 18 and Gudja 8.
