Shaun Bajada joins Birkirkara

Birkirkara secured the services of midfielder Shaun Bajada after agreeing a one-year deal. This will be Bajada’s second spell at Birkirkara after spending five years at the club between 2007 and 2012.

Bajada made his Premier League debut with Floriana in season 2000/01. He moved to Marsaxlokk mid-way through season 2004/05 but spent the second part of season 2006/07 on loan with Msida St. Joseph. The following summer, he was transferred to Birkirkara. He joined Valletta in summer 2012, signing a five-year deal. He spent the latter part of season 2012/13 on loan with Sliema Wanderers. Last summer, he left the club to join Ghajnsielem.

Thoughout his career, Bajada won two Premier League championships, one FA Trophy and four Super Cups apart from being voted Footballer of the Year in 2009/10.

Bajada is the fourth signing for Birkirkara after Serbian duo Predrag Jovic and Srdjan Dimitrov and young goalkeeper Andreas Vella.
