Difficult task for Valletta in Belgrade

UEFA-Champions-LeagueValletta face an uphill task as they take on FK Crvena Zvezda in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round at the Stadion FK Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday, kick-off at 20:30.

A goal by Federico Falcone had put the Citizens ahead in the first leg but goals by Aleksandar Katai and Predrag Sikimic turned the score in favour of Crvena Zvezda. Therefore the Citizens have to win by at least a two-goal difference to move on to the next round.

The fact that Federico Falcone is ruled out injured was a major blow for Paul Zammit’s side and to make matters worse in-form goalkeeper Henry Bonello is also unavailable due to a slight injury. Since Nicky Vella is also ruled out injured and the international clearance of Lithuanian goalkeeper Džiugas Bartkus did not arrive in time, Manuel Bartolo is set to guard the posts.
Romeu Romao and Leandro Aguirre are also nursing slight injuries but should make it to the starting line-up.

Valletta or FK Crvena Zvezda will be meeting Ludugorets Razgrad of Bulgaria or Mladost Podgorica of Montenegro in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
