The Powerade Tournament 2016 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium came to an end on Friday as Balzan and hosts Hamrun Spartans both registered wins after Tarxien Rainbows made sure of winning the tournament on Wednesday.

Balzan defeated Gzira United by the odd goal in five after the Maroons managed to take a two goal lead. Mid-way through the first half, Gzira went two goals ahead through Vojtěch Štěpán and Rafael Ledesma put Gzira but a brace by Bojan Kaljevic and a goal by Paul Lapira turned the score in favour of Balzan after the break.

Hosts Hamrun Spartans registered their first win as they beat Tarxien Rainbows 2-0. Leonardo Motta and Patrick Jean Teixeira Maia were the scorers for the Spartans.

Tarxien ended their commitments on six points, followed by Hamrun on five, Balzan four and Gzira one.
