Hibernians ready for UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers

women-champions-leagueBOV Women’s First Division champions Hibernians are currently in the Netherlands where they will be taking part in the Group 9 Qualifying Round mini-tournament between the 23rd and 28th August.

Jesmond Zammit’s team will be playing against hosts Twente FC, Konak Beledyespor of Turkey and Hungarian side Ferencvaros. Hibs face Konak Beledyespor at the Sportpark Vondersweijde, Oldenzaa on Tuesday, Twente at the Sportpark De Peuverweide, Geesteren on Thursday and Ferencvaros at the Sportpark De Peuverweide, Geesteren on Sunday.

The Hibernians squad is made up of:
goalkeepers Rita Tagliaferro, Rachel Borg;
defenders Mandy Debono, Maria Azzopardi, Charlene Zammit, Rebecca Bajada, Jade Flask, Gabrielle Tonna, Dionne Tonna, Rodiana Borg;
midfielders Shona Zammit, Corissa Vella White, Dorianne Theuma, Francesca Chircop, Ruth Steer Chetham;
forwards Nicole Borg, Emma Xuereb and Martina Borg.

Meanwile, Maltese international Rachel Cuschieri will be involved in the same competition, wearing Apollon Ladies’ kit with whom she will be involved in Group 1 against FC Paok Thessaloniki from Greece, Klaksvikar from Iceland and WFC Hajvalia from Kosovo.
