Valletta, Birkirkara and Balzan seek second win

BOV-Premier-LeagueValletta, Birkirkara and Balzan will be aiming for a second win in two matches as they take on Mosta, Tarxien Rainbows and Pembroke Athleta respectively in three of the four BOV Premier League matches in programme on Friday.

Sliema Wanderers face Hibernians in the other match.

Tarxien Rainbows vs Birkirkara, kick-off 18:30 at Hibernians Stadium

Following a most comfortable 4-0 win over St. Andrews in their first outing, Birkirkara start as firm favourites to collect the three points from the clash with Tarxien. On the other hand, the Rainbows seemed heading towards victory last Friday but a late goal pegged them back to a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted Gzira United.

Julian Galea is set to make his debut for Tarxien. For the Stripes, Shaun Bajada is yet to make his return as he recovers from an injury.

Mosta vs Valletta, kick-off 20:30 at Hibernians Stadium

After beating Sliema 2-1 last week, Valletta target another win as they take on Mosta who lost 2-3 to Balzan.

Jonathan Caruana and Federico Falcone should be back for the Citizens after missing the last league game. Former Valletta striker Njongo Priso is set to make his debut for Mosta after joining them earlier this week.

Pembroke Athleta vs Balzan, kick-off 18:30 at Victor Tedesco Stadium

Balzan will be aiming for another three points after beating Mosta by the odd goal in five. However Pembroke, who lost 1-2 to Floriana, last week are eager to collect their first points.

The Pembroke squad has been strengthened with the signing of goalkeeper Matthew Calleja Cremona and Andrea Scozzese. However Pembroke could not count on the suspended Luke Montebello and Siraj Arab Eddin. Balzan, on the other hand, are expected to hand Matteo Piciollo his debut following his loan switch from Floriana. Bruno Giglio de Oliveira and Alan da Silva Souza should also be back for Balzan.

Sliema Wanderers vs Hibernians, kick-off 20:45 at Victor Tedesco Stadium

Both Sliema and Hibernians will be aiming for their first win after losing their first outing. The Wanderers lost 1-2 to Valletta while the Paolites disappointed in a 1-3 defeat to Hamrun Spartans.

Mark Scerri is suspended for Sliema. Hibs, on the other hand, should be in full strength.
