Kirkop United and Raiders (Luxol) faced each other in their opening commitment from the BOV Women’s First Division on the 21st September. For once, the three points were not the main objective in this encounter, as it was surpassed by the fact that this match served as a fund raising event for ALS Malta Foundation.

The ALS Malta Foundation is the national charity focused on Motor Neurone Disease (MND) care, research and campaigning.

Bjorn Formosa, ambassador of the foundation led both sets of players and referees in the pitch, all wearing ALS T-shirts, where the referees officiated also in the ALS T-shirts. Other than this, the ALS Foundation received donations from every member of the respective clubs and the referees.
