Four Premier League players suspended

nike-ordem-ta-qaliFour Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

The worst hit was Valletta goalkeeper Henry Bonello who was banned for three matches. Jorge Mesqueu Neto (Hamrun), Asani Djeljilj (Pembroke) and John Mintoff (Sliema) were, on the other hand, suspended for one match.

Bonello will miss the games against Tarxien, St. Andrews and Hamrun. Jorginho is ruled out of the game between Hamrun and Balzan, Djeljilj and Mintoff the clash between Pembroke and Sliema.

Pembroke Athleta coach Winston Mintoff was banned for three months, until January 18, 2017.

In Division 1, William Barbosa (Gharghur) and Ryan Caruana (Marsa) were banned for one match while Lija kit-manager Larkin Micallef was banned for four matches.

Jake Vella (St. George’s) was suspended for two matches in Division 2 while Kurt Zahra (Attard) and Glendon Refalo (Swieqi) was banned for one match.

Julian Briffa (Kalkara) was handed a one-match ban in Division 3 while Ta’ Xbiex official Justin Pace was banned for ten matches.
