The new General Secretary of the Malta Football Association could be appointed during the next MFA Council Meeting on November 7.

MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo is expected to nominate the new General Secretary but this would have to be confirmed by the Council of the Malta Football Association.

Bjorn Vassallo was appointed as MFA General Secretary in July 2014, when he had replaced Joe Gauci. Vassallo, however, had been serving as Chief Executive Officer since 2010. He has now stepped down after accepting a job at FIFA as Director Member Associations in Europe.
