BOV Women’s League: Birkirkara end first round on top

BOV-Women-First-DivisionBirkirkara ended their first round commitments on top the BOV Women’s First Division after defeating Gozo 5-0 at the Mgarr Ground on Tuesday. They stay one point ahead of champions Hibernians.

Stephania Farrugia put the Stripes ahead on the 20th minute, Raina Giusti doubled the score on the 36th and five minutes alter, Kim Parnis made it 3-0. Ann-Marie Said increased the lead on the lead on the 75th and five minutes from time, Stephania Farrugia scored the fifth goal.

Hibernians returned to winning ways as they beat Raiders (Luxol) 6-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Ylenia Carabott opened the score after just one minute and Francesca Chircop doubled the score on the 40th. BOV-Women-Second-DivisionIn the BOV Women’s Second Division, leaders Swieqi United kept marching on thanks to a 7-1 win over Tarxien Rainbows at the Zebbug Ground. Rebecca Naudi put Swieqi ahead on the 8th minute but seven minutes later, Francesca Cauchi levelled matters. However eight minutes from the end of the first half, Emma Moore made it 2-1. Moore added another eleven minutes in the second half before Yolande Attard scored twice on the 59th and 66th. Aleksandra Georgieva made it 6-1 on the 75th and Yolande Attard scored the seventh and final goal one minute from time.

In another match, Mosta beat Kirkop United Team B 5-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium thanks to goals by Nicole Sciberras on the 19th, Kirsten Attard on the 21st and 44th and Francesca Zarb on the 43rd and 45th.
