Xewkija Tigers join Nadur on top

Xewkija Tigers joined Nadur Youngsters on top the BOV Gozo Football League Division I as they defeated the leaders 2-0 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Thursday.

The Tigers managed to break the deadlock on the 76th minute thanks to Gennaro Hili and five minutes in added time, Dene Shields sealed the issue with a second goal.

Ghajnsielem returned to winning ways as they defeated SK Victoria Wanderers 3-0 on Sunday. Damon Hili put the Blacks ahead seven minutes in the second half and ten minutes later, Chris Camilleri doubled the score. Chris Camilleri added another on the 71st.

Bottom-placed Xaghra United earned another point in a goalless draw with Oratory Youths on Thursday while on Sunday, Victoria Hotspurs and Kercem Ajax shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Meanwhile St. Lawrence Spurs are the new leaders in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division after defeating Gharb Rangers 1-0 at the Sannat Ground thanks to a goal by Mohammed Senussi Telessi five minutes from time.

Zebbug Rovers, on the other hand, defeated Qala Saints 3-1. A penalty by Ejofor Nkwocha three minutes from the end of the first half and a brace by Ikechukwu Igwemeke on the 61st and 64th put the Rovers three-nil ahead before Christoph Caruana pulled one back on the 73rd minute.
