BOV Division 3: Fifth consecutive win for Santa Lucia

​Leaders Kalkara returned to winning ways as they defeated Msida St. Joseph 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium in one of six BOV Second Division matches in programme on Saturday.

Ryan Sell put Kalkara ahead on the hour and Timmy Thomas doubled the score two minutes from time.

Despite having two players sent off, Santa Lucia registered a fifth consecutive win as they defeated bottom-placed Marsaskala 4-0 at the Luxol Stadium. Sebastian Perdomo opened the score on the 8th minute and Gilbert Camilleri made it 2-0 on the 29th. Five minutes in the second half, Sebastian Perdomo scored the third goal with Jonathan Bugeja adding another on the 76th minute.

Xghajra Tornados defeated Ta’ Xbiex 2-0 at the Sirens Stadium thanks to goals by Stefi Cale on the 55th and Antoine Barbara four minutes from time.

At the Charles Abela Stadium, Mdina Knights registered a narrow win over Sta. Venera Lightnings, courtesy of a Cachel Vella strike four minutes from time while a goal by Ilyad Scicluna one minute in added time gave Kirkop United a narrow win over Mtarfa at the Sirens Stadium

In another match, Luqa St. Andrew’s defeated Zurrieq 3-0 at the Charles Abela Stadium thanks to goals by Leeroy Bonnett on the 12th minute, Jason Good on the 47th and Lee Baldacchino on the 88th.

Kalkara lead the way with 27 points, followed by Santa Lucia on 26, Luqa 23, Xghajra 21, Kirkop 19, Mdina and Sta. Venera 18, Msida 14, Dingli 11, Zurrieq 10, Ta’ Xbiex 9, Mtarfa 6 and Marsaskala 3.
