Birkirkara FC issue statement following allegations of match-fixing

Birkirkara FC issued a statement following a report which appeared on another website making allegations of match-fixing which the club describes as “fraught with inaccuracies, assumptions, speculation and outright lies.”

Birkirkara FC would like to clarify as follows:

The Birkirkara FC committee received information about suspect behaviour of one of its players, and it passed on this information to the competent authorities immediately, for due investigation.

The committee would like to appeal for caution, and to let the competent authorities carry out their investigations.

Meantime Birkirkara maintains its utmost trust and faith in its coach Nikola Jaros, and will support him fully in any legal action he deems appropriate to take in order to protect his good name.

  1. @ Dr Delia
Come on, time to act and not preach the usual legal principles and excuses of ‘innocent until proven guilty’. Investigations will take months if not years….. You have the means and obligation to investigate and interrogate your own player/s and staff.

Catch the bull/s by the horns and clean the Club.

    thank you

  2. No wonder all these negative results of late,.
Clean up house, NOW, if necessary start playing the minor players.

  3. As if he is going to hinder the investigations to please you or me ! Dr. Delia acted and is acting in a very professional way.

    1. Then leave things as they are until the matter is decided by the court…… maybe in a few months or years time 🤗
