Jacques Scerri appointed Hamrun Spartans coach

Hamrun Spartans announced that Jacques Scerri has been appointed as their new coach. Scerri will be assisted by Jonathan Holland assistant coach, analyst Ryan Pulis, physical trainer Gregory Degabriele, goalkeepers’ coach Reuben Debono.

The rest of the technical staff is made up of physio Jean Debattista, team manager Etienne Vella and kit-manager Clint Bonavia.

Following the termination of the contract of Steve D’Amato early in November, assistant coach Jonathan Holland led the team for the next five matches, with the Spartans winning two of the games. Hamrun are currently seventh on 20 points four behind fifth-placed Sliema Wanderers and Birkirkara.

Jacques Scerri had been serving as Tarxien Rainbows coach between summer 2015 and November 2016. The Rainbows finished sixth last season and this year, they were ninth before his departure.

In 2014/15, Scerri led Pembroke Athleta to a historic promotion to the BOV Premier League after leading them to promotion from Division 3 to Division 2 two years before. During season 2013/14, he was the coach of Melita.
