Xewkija Tigers move four points clear

Thiago Melo dos Santos was the hero for Xewkija Tigers as they moved four points clear in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division with a 4-1 win over Oratory Youths on Sunday.

Thiago scored on the 28th, 48th and 51st to give them a three-goal lead and although Sibi Gwar pulled one back with a penalty on the 54th, Thiago added another on the 78th.

Champions Ghajnsielem beat Xaghra United 5-0 on Friday with goals by John Camilleri on the 25th, Emiliano Lattes on the 29th, John Camilleri on the 74th and a brace by Chris Camilleri on the 80th and 90th.

On the other hand, Nadur Youngsters lost 1-2 to Victoria Hotspurs. Claudio Antunes put Nadur ahead on the 9th but goals by Henrique Maciel on the 28th and Mark Camilleri on the 86th handed Victoria the three points

In another match on Sunday, SK Victoria Wanderers and Kercem Ajax shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Milanko Raskovic put the Wanderers ahead on the 16th but Jean Paul Mizzi equalised on the 57th.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, leaders Gharb Rangers defeated Qala Saints. Andrew Ofulue scored four (3, 29, 69 and 85) with Josef Camenzuli and Paul Anthony Attard scoring the other two goals on the 14th and 71st respectively.

In another match, Zebbug Rovers beat Munxar Falcons 2-1. Jordi Parnis put the Falcones ahead on the 17th but Christian Vella equalised on the 32nd and Chris Borg notched the winner ten minutes later.
