Four players suspended after FA Trophy quarter-finals

Four players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the FA Trophy quarter-finals which were held this weekend.

Filippo Andrea Scozzese of Pembroke Athleta and Michel Wisdom Salomon Aka of Sliema Wanderers were both suspended for two matches while Jean Paul Farrugia of Sliema and Triston Caruana of Tarxien Rainbows were handed a one-match ban.

Wisdom, Farrugia and Caruana are therefore ruled out of the semi-finals with Wisdom possibly missing the final. Scozzese, on the other hand, will miss the next two league games against Floriana and Balzan.

SK Victoria Wanderers goalkeepers’ coach Brian Azzopardi and Pembroke Athleta assistant coach Alessandro Catania were both banned for one match.

Meanwhile Paul Fenech of Balzan was also banned for one match following the last round of matches from the BOV Premier League. He is ruled out of next Friday’s clash against Mosta.
