Nine Premier League players suspended

Nine Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Ryan Fenech (Balzan), Ryan Scicluna (Birkirkara), Moises Avila Perez (Gzira), Owen Bugeja and Brooke Farrugia (Pembroke), Denni Rocha dos Santos (Sliema), Alex da Paixao Alves (Tarxien) and Steve Borg (Valletta) were banned for one match while Enmy Manuel Pena Beltre (St. Andrews) was suspended for two matches.

Pena Beltre will miss St. Andrews’ next two games against Floriana and Tarxien; Fenech, Bugeja and Farrugia are ruled out of Pembroke vs Balzan; Scicluna and Lecao will skip Tarxien vs Birkirkara; Avila Perez is ruled out of the game against Hamrun, Borg the clash with Mosta and Denni out of the game against Hibernians.

In Division 1, Patrick Borg (Lija) was banned for two matches while Manuel Caruana (Fgura), Clive Gauci (Pietà), Jonathan Vella (Vittoriosa) and Clive Psaila (Zebbug) were banned for one match.

In Division 2, Ludvic Fardell (Ghaxaq), Alan Cutajar (Gudja), Dylan Zarb (Qrendi), Andrea Camilleri (San Gwann) and Carl Magro (Zabbar) were all banned for one match while in Division 3, Robert Ciantar and Mark Vassallo (Dingli), Ilyad Scicluna (Kirkop), Dylan Mintoff (Mdina), Jake Lovegrove (Msida), Brady Zerafa (Xghajra) and Brendan Scerri (Zurrieq) were suspended for one match. Elton Caruana (Xghajra) was handed a four-match ban.
